Why one-site matters for a Bundaberg wedding

Bundaberg has lovely individual rooms, lovely individual venues and lovely individual reception options. What it doesn't have a lot of is one-site solutions — ceremony + reception + 40-plus guest rooms + dining team + dedicated planner under one roof.

  • Guests don't move. Ceremony on the balcony, canapés on the deck, dinner and dancing in the Burnett Room, lift upstairs to bed. No taxis, no late-night driving, no scattered Airbnbs.
  • Bridal party stays put. Hair and makeup in a river-view suite the morning of; ceremony six floors below; breathing room in the same suite at the end of the night. No rushed transitions, no missing-shoe drama.
  • One contact. One planner manages venue + catering + accommodation + AV. Family from interstate book direct using your code; you don't field a rooming list at 11pm.
  • One invoice. Venue hire, catering, beverages, accommodation block, function-room AV — one final balance from one supplier. Honeymoon admin is plenty without four reconciliations.

Ceremony, reception, rooms

Ceremony. Two settings on site, both against the Burnett — the private riverside balcony (intimate, framed, the river behind the celebrant) and H2O Restaurant's tiered decks (larger congregations, the river behind your guests). Wet-weather contingency built into the planning — not a separate booking.

Reception. Three rooms on the ground floor:

  • The Burnett Room — 136 m², up to 60 seated banquet (the room most full-scale Bundaberg weddings book). Elegant banquets, dance floor, the Burnett through the windows.
  • The Quay Room — 48 m², up to 20 seated banquet. Intimate; ceremonies + pre-dinner drinks for larger weddings.
  • The Vue Room — 48 m², up to 20 seated banquet. Same scale as Quay; combines for 96 m² with a generous dance floor.
  • Combined — all three rooms, up to 120 banquet or 120 cocktail.

Rooms. 44 across nine types — Riverview Queen and Riverview King for the bridal party (private balconies), Family Studio and Two Bedroom Apartment for guests travelling with children, Deluxe Queen and Deluxe King for everyone else. Personalised promo code, negotiated group rate, two-night minimum on peak Saturdays.

Dining: three package styles

Every wedding gets a menu built by the H2O kitchen using seasonal, locally-sourced produce. Three package styles:

  • Alternate drop — 2 or 3 courses; alternating dishes with two shared sides. Elegant seated dining.
  • Premium BBQ — buffet service; premium meats, fish and seasonal salads. Generous, relaxed, well suited to longer summer evenings.
  • Cocktail — hot and cold canapés plus more substantial fork dishes. Stand-up celebration; mingling rather than seating plans.

Beverage packages, dietary handling and individual menu tailoring discussed at the planning stage. Final menu locked at the run-sheet meeting, usually four weeks before the day.

What's included — and what isn't

Included in the venue + catering booking: exclusive use of the function rooms (with private balcony access); dedicated wedding planner; professional wait staff; tables, chairs, white linen and napkins; in-house PA with roving microphone and AUX connectivity for speeches and ceremony music; mirror-tile and candle table centrepieces; on-site parking; wet-weather contingency.

Not included (you bring or we recommend): celebrant, photographer, florist beyond the included centrepieces, cake, DJ or live band, specific signage or stationery, transport for guests staying off-site. Our planner keeps a current supplier list and is happy to share recommendations.

Can we hold the ceremony and reception in one place?
Yes. Two ceremony settings on site — the private riverside balcony and H2O Restaurant's tiered decks. Reception in one of the three function rooms, or take exclusive use of the whole combined floor for up to 120 guests. Guests move from ceremony to canapés to dinner without leaving the building, and overnight guests just walk to the lift.
What are the room capacities?
Three function rooms, all on the ground floor: Burnett Room — 136 m², up to 60 seated banquet (the room used for most full-scale weddings). Quay Room — 48 m², up to 20 seated banquet, intimate ceremonies and pre-dinner drinks. Vue Room — 48 m², up to 20 seated banquet, second concurrent room when you need a break-out. Combined, the three rooms run up to 120 banquet or 120 cocktail.
How does the guest accommodation block work?
44 rooms on site. Every couple gets a personalised promo code and a held block of rooms at a negotiated rate; guests book direct using the code, you don't manage the rooming list. River-view rooms for the bridal party (pre-ceremony hair/makeup, post-ceremony breathing room) and family rooms for guests travelling with children. Two-night minimum applies on peak Saturday weekends — tell us your date at first enquiry and we'll confirm.
